PATTERN AND CAUSES OF EDENTULOUSNESS AMONG ADULT PATIENTS SEEN AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI DENTAL HOSPITAL : Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology UON

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

Although edentulousness has been described in a number of countries, little information
is available regarding edentulousness in Kenya.
A cross-sectional descriptive study will be conducted to describe the pattern of
edentulousness among adult dental patients attending the UO.N Dental Hospital.
A total of 150 patients will be examined and interviewed using systematic sampling
methods.
The interviewer will administer questionnaires and clinical examination forms will be
used to collect data.
It is expected that planners of oral health will use the information so obtained to prioritize
the management of edentulousness in our society.
